For this private residence, Collins Company was brought in to replace heavily weathered tennis court windscreens that were impacting ball visibility and diminishing the visual appeal of the court. With a large gathering planned just weeks away, the client wanted a fast, flawless upgrade that would enhance the play experience, boost privacy, and create a clean, professional aesthetic.
The original windscreens faded and discolored over time, making it hard to visually track the ball during play. In addition to performance issues, the worn-out screens made the space feel dated and uninviting. The court’s high wind exposure required a highly secure attachment solution—and the client specifically requested a match to a previous center-attachment method using black rope. However, that old system left visible hardware exposed, clashing with the clean look the client wanted. Collins Co. proposed a modern alternative: a hidden center grommet flap that offered both visual appeal and structural integrity.

With the client’s approval, Collins Company implemented the updated hidden-flap attachment method. A reinforced flap was sewn to the backside of each panel, allowing for clean center-point fastening with no visible hardware. When the client requested a last-minute change—from one solid panel to split panels between posts to allow for future replacements—Collins Co. quickly fabricated new sections in-house and delivered them in time for the install date. The result was a modern, secure solution that matched the client’s high expectations while elevating the overall court environment.
The final install exceeded expectations. Each windscreen panel was fabricated for a perfect fit—tight, wrinkle-free, and built to endure the property’s windy conditions. The hidden attachment system kept the look polished and seamless from every angle. The darker, uniform background significantly improved ball visibility and reduced glare from both sun and evening lights, creating a focused, distraction-free playing environment. The client was especially pleased that everything was completed ahead of the scheduled event—and praised the fresh, refined appearance of the court.
