BSN Sports partnered with Collins Company to elevate the look and feel of South Florence High School’s football and track complex in Florence, SC. The school wanted to transform large bleacher banks into a standout branding feature that energized the venue and enhanced school spirit. With two facilities positioned on opposite ends of the country, Collins Company leveraged both its California and Georgia operations to streamline workflow and position the Georgia team for a highly efficient, cost-effective installation.
South Florence High School’s bleacher layout featured a series of non-uniform angles, changing elevations, and irregular dimensions — all of which required extremely accurate on-site measurements to ensure the full-print digital graphics aligned perfectly. Every square inch of the windscreen material carried custom gradients, imagery, and color, meaning precision was non-negotiable.
A major layer of complexity came from the need to design and install a custom cable-frame system that would both follow the exact geometry of the bleachers and provide a secure, tensioned structure for the printed panels. The frame had to be engineered to fit the unique shape of each bleacher section while maintaining uniform tension, long-term durability, and a clean, professional appearance. Achieving this required careful planning, structural mapping, and meticulous hardware placement.
The project also required artwork coordination with BSN Sports, precise layout mapping, weather-sensitive scheduling, cross-country printing and shipping, and seamless inter-facility communication.
Collins Company deployed a collaborative, bi-coastal workflow that combined the strengths of both facilities:
A Collins representative conducted detailed on-site measurements across the entire bleacher bank, capturing the angles, elevation shifts, and span lengths needed to engineer an accurate attachment system. Using this data, our team designed a precisely mapped cable-frame infrastructure that followed the bleachers’ complex geometry while providing a tensioned, secure backbone for the windscreen panels.
The design team worked closely with BSN Sports to finalize colors, imagery, and panel sequencing, ensuring the artwork aligned perfectly with the measured dimensions and the underlying cable layout.
Once printed, the panels were shipped, staged, and installed by Collins Company’s Georgia crew. Each panel was tensioned and aligned to the custom cable frame, creating a seamless, unified visual across the entire bleacher structure.
The completed bleacher wraps dramatically elevated the appearance of South Florence High School’s athletic complex. What was once plain metal seating became a vibrant, high-impact focal point that boosts school spirit, strengthens identity, and enhances the game-day experience for students, athletes, and fans.
The successful engineering and installation of the custom cable-frame system ensured long-term durability, clean visual lines, and a flawless fit across the school’s non-uniform bleacher geometry.
The dual-facility collaboration showcased Collins Company’s national capabilities — offering speed, efficiency, and the advantages of a team positioned on both coasts, ready to mobilize wherever needed. BSN Sports and the school received a turnkey result delivered with precision, coordination, and professional execution.
